Harris has over 30 years experience in all aspects of electric utility operations and financing. He developed PJM over a 15-year period into the world's largest wholesale electric market and grid operator. During his career, he has formed a number of international relationships, provided expert testimony in federal and state matters and has been used as a key speaker at media and news events worldwide. Harris has served on the board of directors of NERC (North American Electric Reliability Council), MAAC (Mid-Atlantic Council), SPP (Southwest Power Pool) and SWPA (Southwest Power Resource Association). He is a member of IEEE and the National Association of Corporate Directors, where he serves on the corporate advisory committee. Harris was named CEO of the year by Platts Global Energy Awards, becoming the first chief executive from his industry to receive the honor. He is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and received his master's degree from the University of Northern Colorado. Harris is a certified management accountant and a certified systems professional.
