NEW YORK – June 4, 2009 – At Connectivity Week 2009, GridWise Alliance board member and Arcadian Networks senior vice president Mark Maddox, a federal energy policy expert with more than 25 years experience, will address a breakout session of the convention on the topic of industry efforts to accelerate smart grid standards.
Maddox is a board member of the 80 plus member GridWise Alliance, a consortium representing a broad cross-section of energy and electricity industry stakeholders. Maddox will address Connectivity Week participants on June 10th.
Maddox’s insight will provide key perspective for industry leaders seeking to evaluate various state, local, and federal initiatives re-shaping energy policy in historic ways. Working in support of the GridWise Alliance, Maddox fosters strategic partnerships with organizations and government entities committed to increasing and advancing the knowledge of power industry stakeholders with a shared vision of an electric system that integrates infrastructure, processes, devices, information and market structure so that energy can be generated, distributed, and consumed more efficiently, securely, reliably and cost effectively.
With two years in his current role as senior vice president of Arcadian Networks, a smart grid-enabling provider of wireless broadband communications systems to the energy sector, Maddox is particularly attuned to the specific concerns of both national utility leaders and local community officials affected by changing energy policy and emerging smart grid standards. In his distinguished senior policy career, including past service as an Acting Assistant Secretary at the Department of Energy, Maddox has worked on energy initiatives across of all sectors of the industry.
